As a leader at an InterStudies camp or tour, you’ll be responsible for helping to keep our students safe and making sure they have a great time! Under the guidance of our Camps & Tours team, leaders play an exciting and important role in our events. Being a leader is a brilliant way to meet members of the extended InterStudies community and to experience a trip to a new location!
Leaders are often assigned a group of students, and are expected to look after their group for the duration of the event – for example, making sure all students in their group reach their final destination, or know where to meet up for an activity. If a student has a problem or a question during the event, leaders are on hand to support and guide students.
While the itineraries for events and planned and booked in advance by our Head Office, leaders are often involved in helping to guide and lead students to certain pre-planned locations and accompany students around activities, as well as being present at shared mealtimes – as well as enjoying some free time. On a practical level, leaders are expected to be aware of the itinerary and help ensure that timings are adhered to, to read and understand the risk assessments in place, and to assist with student arrivals and departures.
All leaders’ travel, accommodation and food expenses are covered by InterStudies for the duration of the camp or tour. All of our leaders are fully vetted and will undergo security checks before taking part in any event. We welcome leader applications from host families, partners, LSCs, former students and anybody else who is interested in getting involved in our InterStudies events!
